NEW Version of the popular FireFly© Optical Isolated Probing Solution

PMK is excited to announce new models of its successful optical isolated probe FireFly©. Two new Models FF-0600A with 600 MHz and FF-1000A with 1 GHz bandwidth will support engineers and researchers in their validation and characterization work on power semiconductor testing.

 

The lower bandwidth models especially address the IGBT, Silicon Carbid (SiC) and low frequency switching Gallium Nitrid (GaN) applications.

 

The use of lower bandwidth models for lower switching frequencies applications will benefit from lower intrinsic probe noise but maintain the same high-class temperature stability. All FireFly© models have interchangeable accessories that allow use with all models. Also, all existing PMK power supplies can be used to power the new probe.

The Ultra-Fast Current Shunts (UFCS) represent a paradigm shift in the realm of current measurement technology, setting new standards in terms of technological sophistication. >1GHz bandwidth and ultralow insertion inductance of <200pH enable the precise analysis of fast rise time signals with exceptional signal fidelity, making PMK’s shunts with non-inductive frequency response ideal for challenging measurements like WBG (wide-bandgap) switching loss or pulse current analysis.

 

The UFCS models' compact form factor and high current carrying capacity ensure consistent and reliable performance. Whether measuring GaN switching losses or analyzing high-frequency transients, the solder-in shunts always guarantee highest accuracy.

 

The UFCS are a result of technological advancement that has not been surpassed in the field of current measurement in modern power electronics. For measurements with highest CMRR requirements the UFCS can be connected to optically isolated voltage probes, like PMK’s FireFly®. For general purpose measurements the UFCS can also be connected directly to an 50 Ω input measuring instrument.

New Product Announcement: 8-Channel Power Supply for PMK Probes

The product family of power supplies for PMK's flexible probe series such as FireFly®, BumbleBee®, HORNET®, Sonic®, or HSDP has been expanded with another version. With the PS06 and PS06-L, models with eight channels are now available. This supports users in handling the entire PMK probe portfolio.

 

The multi-channel power supplies from PMK are high precision 2ch, 4ch or 8ch power supplies specifically engineered to provide clean, stable, and reliable voltage and current for demanding high-performance probe applications in measurement and testing environments.

 

All are equipped with a USB interface that allows direct connection and remote control from a host computer. Models with additional LAN interface are available as well, enabling also networked operation and seamless integration into automated test environments.

 

Key technical features include:

  • Low noise and ripple: Ensuring minimal interference and preserving signal integrity for highly sensitive measurements

New Product Announcement: 4kV High-Voltage Probes PHVX Series

The state-of-the-art high voltage probe series PHVX establishes itself with its first 4kV model PHVX4kV as the best-in-class solution for the growing demands of power electronics design, e.g. low side VDS measurements in double pulse testing of high-speed high-voltage switching devices of SiC technology, and IGBTs, thyristors, fast-switching HV diodes, and more.

 

With <3pF low input capacitance and a bandwidth exceeding 600MHz, the PHVX series ensures accurate and reliable measurements for fast-switching devices and power electronics, making it an essential tool for engineers working on advanced designs having a protected test environment.

 

The PHVX series probes have a universal BNC output connector and are compatible with any oscilloscope in the lab with 1 MΩ input impedance.

 

PMK’s PHVX series probes are not for handheld use and for integration into full-automated or manual test stations for high-voltage safety reasons. All PHVX probes are therefore used as a voltage-measuring component (permanently attached device) of a test system.

 

The probe series impresses with its innovative and compact form factor. Individual contacting with high signal fidelity in different applications is ensured with the replaceable spring tip and a variety of contacting accessories for high voltages. Particularly the unique ground ring, which can be rotated through 360° and thus enables direct contacting to 5.08 mm pitch square pin headers without adding any additional capacitive loading to the DUT for highest signal fidelity. In addition, there is a wide range of soldering adapters, BNC adapters, and other accessories for easy and save connectivity for this non-handheld probe.

 

Each voltage model is available in different cable lengths and configurations, w/o additional Silicon insulation (S) for high power measurements, and w/o read-out (RO) that features intelligent communication with automatic scaling on the oscilloscope display.

All our PMK probing solutions come with a standard BNC interface, that can be connected to any 50Ω input or 1MΩ input impedance by using a 50Ω feed-through termination, allowing the PMK family of probes to be used on any oscilloscope in the lab.  Our probes are also capable of being controlled remotely for use in automated test environments.
